This wedding took place on July 4th in Green Island Brook, near Flower’s Cove.  It was a cold windy day, with a temperature of only 8 degrees, so we had to get creative with our photo session on the beach, and used the colourful fishing sheds as our shelter.

My brother has been visiting us this week from Yellowknife.  We haven’t seen his family since last May when they got married in Florida, which was also the first time I got to meet my handsome little nephew Jack.  This was my second time, and what an enjoyable week it has been.  My children love playing with him, and he loves to wake up every morning to go find his “friends”.  We spent a considerable amount of time trying to capture some photos of the four of them together.  There are a couple of my favourites.  Jack. Jenna, and Philip have amused themselves playing Ring around the Rosie.  Typical 2 year old Jack however loves to get right to the fun part.  His version of the song:

Ring round rosie…. ashes, ashes….. all fall down!

William joined in reluctantly for mommy.

I had planned to start my “new blog” back and April and this was to be my first post.  Well, time does go by rather quickly, and luckily Melanie was still willing to allow me to post even though I am 4  months behind.

I received the phone call to photograph this wedding during the Monday of Easter Holidays, and was happy to say that I was available for Saturday.   After plans to get married down south were changed, their wedding was planned in about 6 days!  Everything came together well, and it was a joy to witness this marriage.  A big thank you to the Riverwood Inn in Springdale for providing the backdrop for the photos.  There may have been snow still on the ground, but the sun was reminiscent of their beach vacation, hence the shades.

blog-21Lisa was up for anything when thinking of locations for their wedding shoot, so I was happy to suggest an old abandoned mill just a little drive from where they were getting married.  The sign may say keep out, but we did ask permission before entering {at our own risk}.

As promised, here are a few more photos from Mark and Trina’s day.  Their lovely outdoor ceremony was complemented by a wonderful reception, which was catered and decorated by Jennifer’s (Corner Brook, NL).  Jennifer’s even provided the lovely flowers and cake seen above.

Trina and MarkWhat a perfect start to summer vacation.  A beautiful sunny day on the West Coast of Newfoundland, and a beautiful outdoor wedding in a meadow overlooking the ocean.  A scenic mountain range in the distance was the icing on the cake at this wedding.  And the details….. Trina definatley had an eye for the details!  I had the pleaseure of photographing this couple last year when they came to Grand Falls for their engagement session and it was even more of a pleasure to witness their wedding day.  it was hard to choose a few favourites to post today, so I may have to add a few more tomorrow.
